Little Falls School District Superintendent Sharon Thomas has been offered the superintendent position in the Colorado Springs, Colo., School District No. 11, but she has not yet accepted or denied the job.
Thomas said Wednesday she was offered the position, but the Colorado Springs School Board has not yet negotiated a contract. She said she will not decide whether she will take the position until she knows the contract terms.
Thomas, who is completing her third year in the Little Falls School District, was an attorney for the Colorado Springs School District for seven years before coming to Little Falls.
School Board Chair Susan Prosapio said the school board will meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the LeBourget Room at Lindbergh Elementary School to discuss a superintendent succession plan in case Thomas accepts the position. The board then will meet in closed session to discuss negotiation strategies.
"We can be patient for a little while, but we need to be prepared," said Prosapio. "The school board is still hopeful she (Thomas) will remain here."
