Sweet smoothie delivers healthy boost in minutes

Don't neglect nutrition when it comes to taking a break with a refresher or when you're reaching for something to stave off hunger at a delayed dinner time.

Smoothies whip up in minutes and can be healthy enough to pass the severest scrutiny. This one is a blend of fruit, milk and honey -- evoking ancient, poetic potions, yet shown by modern science to deliver some sound nutrition, vitamins and calcium.

The appealing taste gives the smoothie wide acceptance. Be ready to whip up more for those who clamor for seconds.

Fruity Honey Smoothie

1 cup frozen strawberries

1 banana

1/3 cup honey

1 cup skim or nonfat milk

1/2 cup plain or vanilla low-fat yogurt

In a blender, combine all ingredients; process until smooth.

Makes 2 large servings.

Nutrition information per serving: 332 cal., 9 g pro., 76 g carbo., 2 g fat (1 g saturated), 281 mg calcium, 110 mg sodium.
