PHILBROOK -- Henry Levi Shinabarger, 89, Philbrook, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at his home.
He was born March 26, 1912, to Levi and Ella (Karnes) Shinabarger. He grew up in Long Prairie and graduated from Long Prairie High School. He owned and operated Long Prairie Plumbing and Heating. In 1970, he sold the business and moved to Rigby, Idaho. He married Barbara Tonn on June 3, 1972, in Salt Lake City where they lived until June 1982 when they moved to Philbrook. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Motley and was a member of the board of trustees.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Shinabarger, Flagstaff, Ariz., and Dennis Shinabarger, Coon Rapids; a daughter, Marlene Nelson, Long Prairie; two stepdaughters, Laurie McClintick, Philbrook, and Lynn Widdoss, Cheyenne, Wyo.; two sisters, Bessie Huff, Motley, and Dorothy Nelson, Long Prairie; a brother, Archie Shinabarger, Long Prairie; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
A sister, Ora Neumann, and five brothers, Wally, Wilbur, Lester, Orville and Thomas, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Motley. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Philbrook.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
