Dorothy Serena Hanson

CLARISSA -- Dorothy Serena Hanson, 80, Clarissa, formerly of Little Falls and Brainerd, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at the Central Todd County Care Center.

She was born July 30, 1921, near Wealthwood to Joseph and Magna Workman. She married Otto Hanson on Oct. 2, 1938. They lived in a variety of locations in Minnesota, North and South Dakota and Nebraska. They settled on a dairy farm in Pike Creek Township near Little Falls. They retired to a lake home near Brainerd before moving to Clarissa.

Survivors include four sons, Orville, Dale and Clyde, all of Clarissa, and Roy, Marian, Iowa; two daughters, Dianne Lancaster, Clarissa, and Lori Thompson, Bemidji; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Four brothers, Lloyd, Neil, Glen and Robert; a son, Jerry; a daughter, Debra Byrum; a sister, Magna; her husband; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Iten Funeral Home in Clarissa. Burial will be in the Eagle Bend Cemetery.
