John H. Wassen

IRONTON -- John H. Wassen, age 85, of Ironton, died on Friday, May 14, 2004, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 10, 1919, in Dean Lake Township, Minn., to John and Rose (TerVeen) Wassen. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Crosby, Cuyuna Range Knights of Columbus, retired Crosby fireman, former owner and operator of the Mobil gas station in Crosby.

He is survived by sister-in-law Millie Wassen of Deerwood and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph and Fred Wassen, two sisters, Helen Hartung and Mayme Odegard, two nephews, Jack Hartung and Greg Wassen, and one niece Leone Odegard.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby with Father Howard Eisel officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Tuesday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m.
