Stroia Ballet Co. members to perform recital

LITTLE FALLS -- Stroia Dance Studios of Little Falls, Brainerd and St. Cloud will present a combined dance recital at 6:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday in Charles D. Martin auditorium, Little Falls Community High School.

The students, ages 4 to adult, will demonstrate what they have accomplished in the past year. The audience will view classical, jazz and tap performances in full costume around an eloquent set design. Stroia will perform with his advanced class.

The Stroia Ballet Co. will present the light-hearted fairy tale ballet "Peter and The Wolf." First presented on stage in 1936, this ballet was written to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra. The story is about a brave young boy named Peter, his grandfather, three animal friends -- a little bird, a duck and a cat -- a band of huntsmen and a wicked wolf. The characters in this ballet will also be dressed in colorful animal costumes and dance around a hand-painted canvas backdrop.

Tickets may be purchased at the door. Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children.
