PEQUOT LAKES - Ryan Snavely and Jesse Hernandez each had two hits to help the Pine River-Backus Tigers past the Pequot Lakes Patriots 9-5 in non-conference baseball Tuesday.
The Tigers spoiled the dedication of Pequot Lakes' new field. Former Minnesota Twin Rich Reese, who lives in Pequot Lakes, threw out the ceremonial first pitch to commemorate the occasion.
PR-B's Troy Griffith doubled and drove in a run. Snavely was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Ben Kepner hit a two-run inside-the-park homer for Pequot Lakes and Jake Serfling was 3-for-4 for the Patriots.

Brent Johnson and Joe Lennon had RBI hits in the win for the Huskies.

CROSBY - The Crosby-Ironton Rangers rode the pitching of David Ogard, who gave up five runs on seven hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks to win the first game of a Mid-State Conference double header 6-5 before losing in the nightcap 10-5 Tuesday.
Jason Hite was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored while Ogard had two hits and two RBIs.
In the second game Tom Roline was 4-4 with a double for the Cardinals.

MINNEAPOLIS - Justin Ringler drove in the winning run and got the win as Pillager defeated Sebeka 4-3 in non-conference baseball Friday at the Metrodome.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jake Eastman, who was 2-for-4, led off with a single. With one out, Brent Johnson bunted Eastman to second. With two out, Ringler ripped an RBI single to win the game.
Ringler got the win following one inning of scoreless relief. Nick Hummel pitched six solid innings, giving up six hits. He struck out six and walked none.
