Brainerd takes 2nd

ALEXANDRIA - The Brainerd Warriors won eight events and finished second in both divisions of the Central Lakes Conference track and field meet Tuesday.

Brainerd's Robyn Wernberg won the shot put and discus in the girls' meet. Teammate Hannah McAllister won the 800 run and the 4x800 relay of Katherine Mueller, Kacie Bahr, Megan Holmes and McAllister won the 4x800 relay.

In the boys' meet, Brainerd's 4x800 relay broke school and meet records with a winning time of 8:27.1.

The Warriors' Tyler Hanson won the 400 dash, Darin Underhill won the shot put and Ryan Barnes paced the high jump.

Alex Farber of Little Falls won the boys' long jump and the Flyers' Katherine Harms won the high jump.

Warrior boys' honor roll performances (top 15 in school history) were by Hanson in the 400, Luke Delaney and Mitch Lorenz in the 800, Tyler Rose in the 3200, Underhill in shot put, Barnes in high jump and high hurdles, Tim Yeh in long jump and Tom Ruttger in the 1600.

The top three finishers in each individual event were all-conference. Places 4-5-6 received honorable mention.

The top two relays were all-conference. Relay places 3-4 earned honorable mention.
