A smiling Paul Bunyan greeted 200 square dancers who attended the 14th Annual Paul Bunyan Square Dance Festival at the armory in Brainerd on May 7. Brainerd's mascot reigned over the festival against a section of tall pine trees surrounding a log shack.

Restaurants of Brainerd will hold the food price line during the summer tourist season. William Van Essen said that for the most part the prices would remain static and comments rate to menu prices would remain as charged during the winter months.
