Absentee ballots available

Deborah A. Erickson, Crow Wing County auditor, announced that absentee ballots for the special primary election for County Commissioner District 5 will be available from the auditor's office for residents of District 5 beginning Wednesday.

If you are unable to vote May 24 because of absence from the precinct, illness, physical disability or other reasons you are eligible to vote by absentee ballot.

Absentee ballots will be available for residents of the following precincts in District 5: Bay Lake Township, Center Township, city of Crosby, city of Deerwood, Deerwood Township, city of Emily, Fairfield Township, Irondale Township, city of Ironton, Perry Lake Township, Rabbit Lake Township, Ross Lake Township and Wolford Township.

Additionally, residents may vote in person at the county auditor's office, where an election booth will be set up for residents' convenience.

In addition to regular hours, the county auditor's office will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Requests should be in as soon as possible to insure receiving the ballot in ample time.
