Read, follow or get out of the way.
May is "Get Caught Reading Month" designed to encourage reading for all ages. Discuss as a class how your life would be different if you could not read. What specific problems would you have? What if you were not allowed to read the newspaper? What information would you miss the most? Many countries ban newspapers or books. What information is so powerful that governments would want to keep their citizens from knowing the contents? What three books have your recently read that you would recommend to your friends? Celebrate "Get Caught Reading Month" as a classroom.
