A benefit has been planned for Bracken Pohl, the 6-year-old son of Kyle and Suzi Pohl of Brainerd.
Bracken has a rare, genetic terminal illness called Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 7. This disease affects all muscles in his body, making walking, talking, swallowing, eating, seeing and functioning as needed in life severely difficult. Bracken's little sister, Mearan, lost her battle with this disease on Oct. 6, 2002, at age 2. Bracken's father also was diagnosed with this disease.
The benefit, which includes a silent auction, raffle and spaghetti dinner, is planned from 1-6 p.m. May 22 at Jack's House Family Entertainment Center dining room, 300 Highway 25 South in Brainerd.
For more information about the benefit or to make donations for the auction or raffle, contact Pat at 829-4425 or Wendy at 828-9286.
Monetary donations may be sent to Brainerd Savings and Loan, P.O. Box 503, Brainerd MN 56401.
