AITKIN -- Stephanie Miller, 78, Aitkin, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin.
She was born July 7, 1922, in Crow Wing County to Stephen and Hattie (Dayton) Cofield. She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1940. She attended Duluth State Teacher's College and then taught school in the rural areas of Aitkin and Brainerd. She married LeRoy Miller on Feb. 9, 1946, in Minneapolis. Most of her life, she was in ministry with her husband. She was active in every aspect of church life, teaching Sunday school, serving as church organist/pianist and preaching. After retirement in 1987, they moved back to Aitkin.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Miller, Bellingham, Wash., Rebecca Sprecher, Rockford, Ill., and Rhoda Berrios, Hampton, Va.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ida Pruett, Springfield, Ore.
Her husband and two sisters, Audrey Jacobs and Esther Solberg, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Glory Baptist Church with the Rev. John Sprecher and the Rev. Randy Stauter officiating. Burial will be in the Glory Baptist Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to "Go Ye Ministry," a missions ministry in Texas.
Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Willim Funeral Home in Aitkin and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.
