Willmar captures shutout

WILLMAR - Brainerd's Karlie Manton struck out 10 and surrendered three hits, two earned runs and one walk in a 5-0 Central Lakes Conference softball loss to the Willmar Cardinals Tuesday.

Hallsey Olson was 2-for-4 and Steph Neugebauer was 1-2 with two walks for the Warriors.

"We had the bases loaded three times and we just didn't cash in," Warriors assistant coach Dan Bzdok said, "Opportunities were lost."

The loss drops Brainerd to 10-2 in the conference and 15-2 overall.
