The Brainerd Judo Team competed at it's sixth consecutive State Judo Tournament on May 3.
The team brought 15 competitors to the tournament. Qualifiers who placed first or second automatically qualified for the national tournament in July in Chicago. The Brainerd team consists of competitors of various weights and ages. The youngest competitor was 8 and the oldest was 37.
Brainerd team members taking home trophies in their age and weight classes: First place - Andy Schlosser, Brady Anderson, Levi Rubin, Tommy Schlosser and Hunter Anderson.
Second: Dacotah Gunderson, Dominic O'Reilly, Timothy O'Reilly, Dave Bergin and Shayna Vastila.
Third: Stafford Thompson, Mathew O'Reilly and Nathan Augustine.
The team plans to send six competitors to the national championships.
