Warrior girls repeat as section champ

GRAND RAPIDS -- The Brainerd Warriors girls' track and field team repeated as champion in the Section 8, Class 3A True Team meet Thursday and won four individual titles.
Ashley Schmolke won the 800-meter run, Maria Swanson won the shot put, Missy Eiesland paced the long jump and Taylor Hartje led the triple jump.
Brainerd had 485.5 points, 55.5 more than runner-up Moorhead.
The Brainerd boys' team was runner-up with 453 points. Moorhead won with 577.5.
Warrior individual boys' winners were Justin Grunewald in the 1600 run and James Strand in the 300 hurdles.
Girls' honor roll performances were by Jessie Radtke in the 200 dash, Megan McAllister in the 100 hurdles and Taylor Hartje in the 300 hurdles and triple jump.
