STAPLES -- Confused about what shrubs and perennials will grow in your yard? Do you have a landscape project you'd like to begin but need a little landscaping advice before you start?

If so, a "Landscaping Your Home with Shrubs and other Perennials" workshop will run 6 to 8 p.m. May 20 at the Living Legacy Gardens classroom, Central Lakes College Ag Center, Staples.

Registration fee is $5. Walk-ins are welcome.

Becky Roelofs, landscape designer from the Staples-Motley area, will give practical advice for those who want to improve the look of their yards.

Roelofs is a graduate of the CLC horticulture program. She and husband Mike own Meadowbrook Landscaping.

Other twilight summer workshops will include Ornamental Grasses, Making a Sandcast Birdbath (hands-on), Planting Tips for Spring-blooming Bulbs, and Balsam Wreath Making/Decorating (hands-on).

Living Legacy Gardens, open year-round at no charge, is located at the Central Lakes College Ag Center, approximately 2.5 miles north of Staples on County Road 30 and then one-half mile west on County Road 2.
