Gil Millette is a utility player in a track and field uniform.
Brainerd head coach Rod Reuer said Millette is proof the Warrior boys' are a deep and versatile team.
On Tuesday, Millette stepped into the 4x200 relay and helped it to an honor roll time and then won the 300 hurdles with an honor roll time to push Brainerd to 132.5 points and a victory in the Warrior triangular.
"I'm usually not on the 4x200, but it was still nice to run that," said Millette. "It was a nice change. Every once in a while I'll do the 110 hurdles. I'll probably do those in the conference meet. I'll do the 200, the 100 and the 400. They throw me wherever they need me.
"It's kind of like 'Hey, Gil we need you for this. Run it.' I'll gladly just step in and do it."

Millette won the 300 hurdles in 41.74. Teammate Dakota Swanson ran a runner-up, honor roll time of 41.87.
"I was really shooting to get under 42 and I wasn't' sure with this wind, but I was able to pull it off," said Millette. "For the three Brainerd people - me, Dakota and Jake (Westphal) - it's all three of us, every meet, just running against each other. We're not worried about other people. It's just who is going to win this time. No matter what, it changes. It's lots of fun."
The Warriors had fun, winning 14 of the 18 events. T.J. Struss was the fastest person on the track as he swept the 100- and 200-meter dashes, anchored the winning 4x100 team and leaped to first in the long jump.
Scott Ramey swept the throwing events, winning the shot put in 44-1 and discus in 124-6.
Also winning for Brainerd were Alex Rahn in the 400 dash, Tom Ruttger in the 800 run, Jeff Emery in the 1600, Swanson in the 110 hurdles and Nate Parsons in the triple jump.
Britton Murrey vaulted onto the honor roll with his winning 11-6 pole vault. The junior was shooting for 12 feet.
"It went good today," said Murrey. "I had a normal warm-up and everything, but I had a lot of friends cheering me on and that helped."

Murrey is a two-time state-qualifying diver and said the body control learned from that discipline transfers well to the spring season.
"Diving helps so much with the twisting and everything," he said. "You can twist in the air and you have that awareness when you're upside down that really helps."
Brainerd swept the relays and put together honor roll times on the 4x100 and 4x200.
The Little Falls Flyers finished second with a 43.5. Preston Zimny won the 3200 and Elliot Kohler won the high jump.
