ST. MICHAEL - Derek Robert Dorholt, 2, of St. Michael, passed into God's hands on Sunday, May 10, 2009, at the MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
He was born June 8, 2006, in Edina, Minn., the son of David D. and Kelly S. (Kreiser) Dorholt.
Derek could light up a room with his dimples and smile. Being outside was his favorite pastime along with giving hugs and asking you to dance. His favorite sports were watching his sisters play hockey or softball. Riding on the Bobcat with PaPa and going on a four-wheeler ride anywhere was his favorite hobby. He was always a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.
Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Ken Wiebolt.
His family includes his parents, David and Kelly; along with two loving sisters, Amanda and Emma, of St. Micheal; maternal grandparents, Dr. Robert and Karen Kreiser, of rural Erhard; paternal grandparents, Eunice Wiebolt, of Baxter, and Dennis (Mary) Dorholt, of Grand Rapids. He was loved by so many and he knew it then and knows it now.
In remembrance of the colorful way Derek lived life, you are welcome to wear bright colors to his celebration of life service.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hanover with the Rev. Pastor Gorden Estenson officiating.
Arrangements are with Faith and Hope Funeral Home, Fergus Falls.
