Pequot sixth in Menahga

MENAHGA -- Val Meschke shot a 41 on the front nine Thursday and shot 44 on the back nine of Blueberry Pines to finish with 85 and lead the Pequot Lakes Patritos girls' golf team to sixth place at the Menahga Invitational.

Wadena-Deer Creek was seventh and was led by Chassy Dreger's 90. Staples-Motley was one place behind at eighth and was led by Cydney Hasselberg's 93.

The Crosby-Ironton Rangers finished 12 with Steph Sand's 103 leading the way.

Pierz wins at Kimball

KIMBALL -- Kristin Sczublewski shot a 45 Thursday for second place individually and to help the Pierz Pioneers girls' golf team repeat as the champions of the Kimball Invitational.

Kim Stangl fired a 46 for fourth individually. Katie Sczublewski finished with 50 and Christy Virnig had a 51 to finish out the scoring for Pierz.
