MERRIFIELD -- Helene Grimm, age 75, of Merrifield, died Monday afternoon May 9, 2005, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd as the result of an automobile accident. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa with Father George Zeck. Friends may call for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa.
Helene Grimm was born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Oberhausen, Germany, the daughter of Clemens and Elizabeth (Otten) Pollerberg. Helene grew up and was educated in Oberhausen, Germany. She moved to the United States of America in 1957. On March 9, 1957, she was united in married to Karl Grimm in Minneapolis. To this union three children, Astrid, Adrian and Ingrid, were born. Helene and Karl were able to share more than 48 years of marriage together. After their marriage they lived in Brooklyn Center until 1973 moving to Dayton, Minn., where they lived for 15 years. After summering near Merrifield for many years they moved to Merrifield in 1992. Among the things she enjoyed were sewing, crocheting, being outdoors, swimming, cross country skiing and tending her vegetable and flower gardens. Helene attained the age of 75 years, two months and 14 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clemens and Elizabeth; and one brother, Willie. Helene is mourned in passing by her husband, Karl; children, Astrid (Daniel) Gubbin, of Andover, Adrian (Cindy), of Coon Rapids, Ingrid (Jeff) Reif, of Oakdale; one sister, Marianne Hellmann, of Oberhausen, Germany; six grandchildren, Michael, Joseph and Sarah Gubbin, Jacklyn and Cynthia Reif, and Tyler Grimm.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
