CROSBY -- Arnold William Johnson, age 85, of Crosby, died on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1918, in Manganese, Minn., to Carl and Myrtle (Anderson) Johnson. He is a WWII Army veteran, life member Military Order of the Purple Heart, member of the Myrin James American Legion Post No. 443 of Ironton, Mahlum Hanson VFW Post No. 1647, Brainerd, Disabled American Veterans, Crow Wing County Chapter 22, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1246, Brainerd, owned and operated Johnson Jewelry in Crosby from 1952 to 1972 and Arnie's Watch Repair in Crosby from 1972 to 1983.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Patricia Johnson of Coon Rapids; a daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Donald Williams of Anchorage, Alaska; brother, Clarence Johnson of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two sisters, Evelyn Wilcox of Glendale, Calif., and Judy Parsons of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; a grandson, Shane Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Hall.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby with the Rev. Paul Mattson officiating. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military rites given by the Myrin James American Legion Post No. 443 of Ironton. Friends may call on Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
