Posted: Tuesday, May 13, 2003

Two males, age 13 and 14, were taken into custody Monday and a third, age 13, was identified for charges during a Brainerd Police Department investigation into more than $50,000 in vandalism at Tanner Motors.

The vandalism to 79 mostly new vehicles at the business was committed during the night of May 2.

Officers Brian Brewer and Ron Myers responded to the initial call. Investigator Chad Kleffman worked on leads developed by the officers, including school liaison Officer Jack Davies, to bring charges against the boys.

Brainerd Police Chief John Bolduc commended the officers involved and noted the investigation is continuing for additional possible suspects.
