Tigers defeat Rangers

CROSBY - Erin Johnson went 3-for-4, including a double, and pitched the Pine River-Backus Tigers to an 8-3 victory in a non-conference victory over Crosby-Ironton on Monday.

Emily Arends also went 2-4 with an RBI for the Tigers.

Amy Carlson took the loss for the Rangers.

Aitkin 2, Isle 1

ISLE - Emily Mehr struck out eight in seven innings and allowed only one run on one hit to lead Aitkin to a 2-1 victory over Isle in a Great River Conference game Monday.

In a scoreless game in the top of the sixth, Aitkin scored two runs on one wild play without aid of a hit. With runners at second and third, a Krystal Miller pitch was charged as a passed ball, allowing one run to score. A throw to get the lead runner was errant, allowing the second run to come in.

Kelsey Klucas went 2-for-3 with one run for the Gobblers.

Alexandria 12, Little Falls 0

LITTLE FALLS - Little Falls mustered only three hits and had three runners thrown out on the bases as the Flyers fell 12-0 to Alexandria in a Central Lakes Conference game Monday.

Courtney Messinger went 1-for-2 with a double for the Flyers.
