BLUE EARTH - Tom O'Reilly, age 55, of Blue Earth, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth with Father Mark McNea officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th St., Blue Earth, and continuing one hour prior to service at the church.
Thomas O'Reilly
Tom was born on Oct. 30, 1953, in Brainerd, Minn., the son of Raymond and Juanita (Jewell) O'Reilly. Tom was raised and educated in the Brainerd area. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1973. After high school he attended vocational school in Pipestone, Minn. On Sept. 21, 1974, Tom married Diane Lusk, the parents of Stacy and Patrick. In 1977 Tom moved to Blue Earth where he worked at Juba's for over 17 years and was also a bus driver for the Blue Earth School District for over 10 years. On Sept. 15, 2007, Tom married Diane (Wayman) in Blue Earth. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially with his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Tom will be deeply missed by those he touched throughout his life.
Tom is survived by his wife, Diane O'Reilly, of Blue Earth; his daughter Stacy (Ben) Haase, of Blue Earth, their child Devin; his son, Patrick (Robin), of Jackson, their children Alexis and Austin; his stepdaughter Shannon (Steve) Prostrollo, of Owatonna, their children, Joshua, Joseph and Elizabeth; his stepdaughter, Megan (Jeremy), of Lake Crystal, their children, Zachery, Isaiah and Ethan; his stepson, Ryan Seys, of St. Cloud; his brothers, James (Jackie) O'Reilly, Michael (Bev) O'Reilly, Gerald (Cheryl) O'Reilly, Robert (Jan) O'Reilly, Jon (Jeri-Lee) O'Reilly; his sister, Penny (Jeff) Sawdy; brother-in-law, Dave Karlson; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy O'Reilly; sister, Jackie Karlson; and great-niece, Isabella O'Reilly.
