BACKUS - Cass County authorities reported Friday that four Backus residents were arrested this week in connection with an ongoing controlled substance investigation.
The investigation is being conducted by the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Pine River and Backus police departments, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, agents of the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force and West Central Drug Task Force.
Authorities reported that Stephen Wentling, 44, Backus, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and has been charged with one count of controlled substance crime in the first degree and one count of fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
Stanley Tilbury, 50, Deborah Dahl, 44, and Leslie Dahl, 21, all of Backus, were arrested Thursday afternoon when a search warrant was executed at a rural Backus residence.
Tilbury has been charged with one count of fifth-degree controlled substance crime, Deborah Dahl has been charged with one count of fifth-degree controlled substance crime and Leslie Dahl was arrested for a probation violation.
The four individuals are being held at the Cass County Jail.
Authorities encourage anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity to report it to local law enforcement.
