Ila M. Lueck

AITKIN -- Ila May Lueck, age 84, of Aitkin, died on Monday, May 10, 2004, at the Cuyuna Range Care Center in Crosby. She was born on May 22, 1919, in Dalton, Neb., to John and Hettie (Brown) Gustin. She moved with her family as a young girl to Wildwood near Thor. She attended Wildwood School and married Vernon Lueck on Dec. 24, 1936, in Aitkin. She and Vernon farmed for many years in Thor. After Vernon's death she moved into Aitkin in 1988. She was a volunteer at the Aitkin Food Shelf and a member of the Golden Age Club.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Dennis Russell of Isle; and sons and daughters-in-law, Arnie and Karen Lueck and Clayton and Donna Lueck, both of Aitkin; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; extended family and many good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14, at First Lutheran Church in Aitkin with the Rev. Sandy Berg-Holte officiating. Interment will be in the Saron Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin with prayers at 6 p.m.
