LITTLE FALLS -- Richard "Dick" Yasgar, 75-year-old resident of Little Falls, Minn., died Monday, May 10, 2004. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 14, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Vouk officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and from 8-9:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral chapel.
Richard was born on Oct. 28, 1928, in Little Falls, Minn., to the late Alvin and Florence (Sladek) Yasgar. He entered the United States Army on June 24, 1948, and retired in 1986. He was united in marriage to Shirley (Fisher) on May 22, 1953, in Casper, Wyo. The couple made their home in Little Falls, Minn. Richard worked for 34 years at Camp Ripley in Little Falls, Minn., and retired as an E-9. Richard was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Royalton American Legion Post No. 137. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Richard is survived by his wife, Shirley Yasgar of Little Falls, Minn.; son, Joseph Yasgar of St. Cloud, Minn., Steven Yasgar and wife, Fran, of Salem, Ore., Thomas Yasgar and wife, Josine of Sauk Rapids, Minn.; daughter, Nancy Denke and husband Kenneth, of Wall, S.D.; brother, Donald Yasgar of Little Falls, Minn.; grandchildren, Matt, Jenna, Julie and Lindsey Yasgar, and Kari and Zach Denke.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Leone Nottingham.
Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, Minn.
