Shirley Schoonover (left), president of the Brainerd American Legion Auxiliary Unit 255, pinned a poppy Tuesday on Spc. Daniel Bednarek, who is serving with the Training Support Unit of the National Guard at Camp Ripley. Auxiliary members will offer poppies for donation Friday throughout Brainerd and Baxter. Proceeds will benefit disabled veterans and their families.
