LITTLE FALLS -- The Great River Arts Association presents Creative Composing, a visual art collection of poems, self-portraits, landscape paintings and other creative artworks put together by Little Falls Girl Scout/Brownie Troop No. 610.
This artwork is on display through May and June at the Family Medical Center Gallery in Little Falls.
The troop compiled the show as members worked to earn their Try-it badge, which is given to Brownies who show they can express their thoughts, ideas and feelings in different ways. The Brownies stretched their creativity in poetry, explored familiar watercolor painting in a new way, and even surprised themselves with their creation of varied and complex self portraits while earning the badge.
Troop No. 610 is a group of seven girls, ages 8-10, who chose traditional mediums of crayon, marker, watercolor and collage for their works. The budding artists who make up this Brownie troop include Molly Jacobson, Madeline Jarvis, Brittney Mandery, Danel Okerman, Alyssa Piotrowski, Gabrielle Rizer and Kia Tillman, all of the Little Falls area. For more information on the Brownie Troop No. 610 call (320) 632-1942.
The Creative Composing exhibit is free during regular clinic hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays. Call the Great River Arts Association at (320) 632-0960 for more information.
