BAXTER -- The identity of a 75-year-old Merrifield woman, Helene Grimm, who was killed in a traffic accident shortly after 5 p.m. Monday was released Tuesday by the Baxter Police Department.
The collision between the victim's car and a van took place at the intersection of Woida Road and Edgewood Drive, a service road that runs parallel to Highway 371.
The driver of the victim's car, Karl Grimm, 75, of Merrifield, and the victim were transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center. A short while after they were transported Baxter Police and the State Patrol were advised that Helene Grimm was pronounced dead at the hospital. Karl Grimm was discharged from the hospital on Monday.
The driver of the van, Steven Larkin, 31, Brainerd, was not listed as injured
Baxter Police reported that the victim and her husband were northbound on Edgewood Drive when their car was struck broadside by the westbound van at the Woida Road intersection.
North Ambulance and the Brainerd Fire Department assisted at the accident scene on Monday.
