Aitkin boys lead GRC quadrangular golf tournament

DEERWOOD -- The Aitkin Gobblers boys' golf team won a Great River Conference quadrangular Wednesday at Cuyuna Country Club with help from Brian Hills who won medalist honors with a score of 35.

The Gobblers shot a 165 as a team to sneak past Moose Lake-Willow River, which shot a 166.

Team scores -- 1- Aitkin 165, 2- Moose Lake 166, 3- Onamia 175, 4- Isle 197

Medalist -- Brian Hills (A) 35

DEERWOOD -- Tiffany Kullhem led the Aitkin girls' golf team, shooting a 50 as the Gobblers took second place with a score of 240 in a Great River Conference meet Wednesday at the Cuyuna Country Club.

MOOSE LAKE -- JJ Harrington of Aitkin shot 36 to finish two shots off the pace as the Aitkin Gobblers boys' golf team competed in a Great River Conference meet Tuesday.

Andrew Heggem added a 39 for the Gobblers, who finished second with 159 strokes.

In the girls' meet, Aitkin placed third with 224 shots. Carrie Cummings' 48 was the low score for the Gobblers.
