PILLAGER -- Florence A. Martin, 95, Pillager, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at Greater Staples Care Center of Staples.
She was born March 17, 1905, in Sweden to Axel and Ida Peterson. She came to the United States with her family as a young child and settled in Iowa. They later moved to central Minnesota where she married Elven F. Martin on June 12, 1939. They farmed for many years. She taught at the Sunrise School in the neighborhood. She was a member of the Casino Assemblies of God Church and the ladies group and she played the piano for many years.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Martin, Pillager; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her husband; a son, David; a brother, Arthur Peterson; and two sisters, Agnes Menzie and Ada Uldin, died earlier.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Casino Assembly of God Church of Pillager with Pastor Mike Broberg officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery of Pillager.
