CROSBY -- The annual Mineland Clean-Up Program will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17.
The year 2000 marks the program's 15th anniversary and communitywide support is needed to make this another record year. Over the past five years volunteers have taken more than 18 1/2 tons, or more than 37,000 pounds of trash, out of the mineland area.
As in the past 14 years, participants will start from the Pennington Access at 5:30 p.m. Soft drinks will be provided by the Crosby Super Valu.
There will be a light dinner provided for all Mineland Clean-up participants at the Ironton American Legion immediately following the clean-up. Prizes will be donated by area businesses.
Because of the immense coordination activities required among the Cuyuna Range cities, Crosby-Ironton School District, Cuyuna Range organizations, Crow Wing County and the state of Minnesota, this event will take place rain or shine.
Call the Cuyuna Range Economic Development, Inc., office for more information at 546-8318.
