FERGUS FALLS - Trailing 8-4 after three innings the Brainerd Warriors rallied for 11 runs and went on to defeat the Fergus Falls Otters 15-10 in Central Lakes Conference baseball Thursday.
Brainerd scored three runs in the top of the fourth to climb within 8-7. The Otters added two runs in the bottom of the fourth to expand their lead to 10-7. Brainerd scored three in the sixth and five in the seventh to remain unbeaten in 11 games.
After getting just eight hits in sweeping a doubleheader from Alexandria two days earlier the Warriors cranked out 12 hits Thursday.
"We haven't been hitting a lick, but we've been pitching good," Warriors coach Lowell Scearcy said. "This one was kind of the other away around."
Winning pitcher Nick Anderson struck out six batters and didn't allow any hits in the last two innings to get his first win. Ethan Branum, Bill Sather and Kyle Crocker preceded Anderson on the mound.
Nick Anderson earned his first victory.
At bat, Brainerd's Nate Smolke was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, Tyler Jensen was 2-4 with a double and two RBIs, Crocker was 3-4 with three runs and two RBIs and Bronson Shepherd was 3-5 with two stolen bases and two RBIs.
Fergus Falls shortstop Derek Hanson was 2-4 with three RBIs, including a two-run homer in the fourth. Aaron Link was 2-4 with an RBI and two runs and Matt Duenow and Andrew Anderson were 2-4 for the Otters.
