Juvenile Center closing

The Central Minnesota Juvenile Center is closing.

Wednesday, the joint powers board with commissioners from Aitkin, Crow Wing and Morrison counties voted 10-4 to close the troubled facility, which continues to struggle with violations from a Department of Corrections inspection and financial losses.

The facility, at the Brainerd Regional Human Services Center campus, employs 15 people.
