STAPLES -- Joan Felicia Wilkowski, 71, Staples, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at home.
She was born March 9, 1931, in Rush City to Charles and May (Lundeen) Wilson. She graduated from high school in Rush City in 1949. She married John Wilkowski on Oct. 29, 1949, in Rush City. They moved to Staples. She worked for the city of Staples. She was a clerk for the Burlington Northern Railroad until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the ladies' circles, the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliaries, as well as the TCU.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Wilkowski, Aitkin, and Kenneth Wilkowski, Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Felicia Cizek, Menahga, and Paula Huss, Staples; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Jean Swanson, South Haven.
Her parents, her husband and a grandchild died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Tim Wenzel officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. today, with the rosary said at 7 p.m. and parish prayers following, at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
