DWIGHT, N.D. (AP) -- An explosion and fire destroyed a trailer-making business here early this morning. No injuries were reported.
''When we got here ... it was all fire,'' said Jim Aldrich, a Dwight firefighter.
The cause of the blaze at ABU Trailers was not immediately known. The company makes small flatbed trailers.
''Obviously, there was some kind of explosion,'' Aldrich said. ''The building is a manufacturing plant that uses a lot of welding equipment. There was a lot of property that could have contributed to an explosion.''
Company owner Ron Barth, of Campbell, Minn., said he was called by a neighbor about 5:30 a.m. The ABU plant was built in the former Dwight school, with a metal building added in the back.
''It's all gone,'' Barth said.
''We used the whole school,'' he said. ''The classrooms -- we knocked the walls out and made a paint room out of them.''
The plant employed 13 people.
