Stanley R. Green

ELK RIVER - Stanley Robert Green, age 86, of Elk River, formerly of Deerwood, died on May 7, 2008, at the Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River. He was born on July 22, 1921, in Horrinck, Iowa, to Robert and Alice (Stataler) Green. He married Sylvia Francis Molacek on Oct. 19, 1946, in Schuyler, Neb. He was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post No. 557 of Deerwood. He is retired UAW Local 879 with 36 1/2 years with the Ford Motor Co.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; three sons, David (Debbie) Green, of Elk River, Dennis (Colleen) Green, of Elk River, Bennett (Janice) Green, of East Bethel; one sister, Everyl (Itheil) Kline, of Janesville, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Tait, Denny, Jeremy, Erik, Elizabeth (Brian) Points, Andrew and Hannah.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military honors given by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post No. 557, Deerwood. Friends may call on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
