Jane Gunsbury of the Quarterdeck restaurant and Pleasant Acres Resort on Gull Lake will be one of the business people honored at an awards breakfast in Bloomington on Monday.

30 years ago (1977)

Brainerd's police reserves were honored Wednesday night for their contribution to the city at a banquet held at the Moose Club. Presented with the Tower Award was Art Brandt, chief of the reserves.

40 years ago (1967)

The Brainerd Kiwanis Club yesterday hosted the honor graduates of distinction from Washington High School. Fifteen students, all in the top four percent of their class scholastically, attended the meeting.

60 years ago (1947)

80 years ago (1927)

The Northwestern Bell Telephone Company is busy installing a private branch exchange at the Ideal Hotel this week. A switchboard will be installed in the lobby and the installation will connect all rooms with a telephone in each.

100 years ago (1907)

The Northern Pacific shopmen will have their annual picnic this year. Last year they were unable to secure the necessary equipment from the company but this year they have received the promise of eight coaches and a baggage car. The location will be either Simley or Deerwood.
