PRAGUE, Czech Republic (AP) -- A U.S. soldier died during a training exercise in the western Czech Republic, an Army spokesman said Wednesday.

Sgt. Jeffery T. Sellars, of the 1st Infantry Division, based in Kitzingen, Germany, died Tuesday when the vehicle he was traveling in rolled over, said Capt. Scott Gibson, an Army spokesman.

Sellars, a 29-year-old father of three from Raleigh, N.C., was taken to a hospital in the nearby town of Pilsen, some 60 miles southwest of Prague, and died shortly afterward, Gibson said.

A second soldier suffered minor injuries in the accident, Gibson said.

Sellars was involved in training at the Hradiste training area. About 2,000 U.S. soldiers took part in the four-week exercise.
