Olson pitches Gobblers to third place in tourney

HILL CITY -- Abby Olson pitched all three games for the Aitkin Gobblers Saturday and led her team to third place in the Hill City softball tournament.

Aitkin was defeated by Hill City 6-5 in the first game, but the Gobblers came back and beat Ely 5-4 and Deer River 11-5.

"Abby pitched great for us all day," said Gobblers coach Ann Erlandson. "Her best game was the loss against Hill City." Olson only gave up three hits, struck out five batters and walked six in the losing effort.

Erin Catlin led the Gobblers on the offensive end in the first game going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Marissa Chatelle led them in the second batting 2-2, also with an RBI and a run scored. Chelsie Pratt and Maddie Otto led their team in the third game as they each hit a home run and had two RBI.
