PHILADELPHIA -- Eric Lindros hasn't played in nearly two months. He may never play again, and the Philadelphia Flyers are prepared to go on without him.
''He's a great player,'' Flyers defenseman Dan McGillis said after Philadelphia's 6-3 victory over Pittsburgh on Sunday in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
''Any team can use him. But we're playing well as a hockey team and we're starting to jell.''
Philadelphia leads Pittsburgh 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. Lindros, who hasn't played since March 13 because of a concussion, was hoping to return to the Flyers for the Eastern Conference finals.
That is unlikely, however, because Lindros suffered his third concussion since January.
