ATLANTA (AP) -- The frenzy surrounding Elian Gonzalez is expected to take a decidedly dry turn this week as the international custody case goes before the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
A three-judge panel is being asked to decide whether the Cuban boy, 6, should receive a political asylum hearing.
Rather than playing on the emotions that have led to protests across two countries since Elian was discovered, experts say lawyers will be arguing the nuts and bolts of law at Thursday's hearing.
