Fort Ripley Rebels beat Brainerd Braves

FORT RIPLEY - The Fort Ripley Rebels scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to knock off the Brainerd Braves 9-4 Sunday in Victory League baseball.

Tim Hoglin struck out 10 in five inning of work to pick up the win for the Rebels. Jason Sather finished 3-for-6 with two runs. Austin Schmolke, Ray Austin and Rhett Williamson were each 2-5 for Fort Ripley.

Corey Nuegebauer was 2-5 for Brainerd, which dropped to 0-2. Jamie LaDouceur and Derek Owen each hit a double.

Note: The annual Fort Ripley Rebels Smelt Fry is scheduled for 4-9 p.m. May 11 at the Fort Ripley Bar. The cost is $8 and the proceeds go toward the Rebel baseball team.

Avon 7, Fort Ripley 2

FORT RIPLEY - Brett Kramer was 2-4, Curt Veith was 2-4 with a double and Jim Kramer added a double, but the Fort Ripley Rebels fell to the Avon Lakers Sunday 7-2 in Victory League action.

Austin Schmolke picked up the loss. He gave up seven hits, two walks and four runs. He struck out three.

Avon's Cole Deibele had a part of two-run triples. Randy Lockridge was 2-5 and Lincoln Haugen was 3-5 for the Lakers.

Lastrup 5, Buckman 4

LASTRUP - Alex Leach singled home Jamie Litke from second base with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to lead the Lastrup Lakers to a 5-4 victory over the Buckman Billygoats during Sundays KLTF Victory League game of the week.

Lastrup trailed Buckman 4-2 going into the bottom of the ninth and scored twice to tie the game. The potential winning run was thrown out at the plate for the third out sending the game into extra innings.

Dan Saehr pitched three innings allowing one run, one hit and two walks to pick up the win.

Tyler Swoboda was 2-5 for Lastrup. Reggie Litke was 3-5 with a RBI, Jason Gross was 1-4 with an RBI and a sacrifice, Leach was 3-5 and Tim Lease was 2-4 with a run for Lastrup, which improved to 2-0.

Buckman's Brandon Lochner was 3-5 with two runs scored. Scott Geiger was 1-3 with a double, two walks and a run. Wade Bauer was 3-5 with two RBIs and Joe Kahl was 2-3 with an RBI as the Billygoats dropped to 2-1.

Brewers 11, Foley 0

PIERZ - Jason Sadlovsky struck out six and allowed no runs and Greg Pohlkamp and Steve Kimman both blasted out home runs lead the Pierz Brewers to an 11-0 victory over the Foley Outlaws Sunday.

Pohlkamp finished 2-5 with two RBIs and Steve Kimman was 2-3 with four RBIs. Dan Kimman was 3-4 with a RBI and a run for the Brewers. Dan Egan was 2-3 with a stolen base and Paul Preimesberger was 1-2.

Nate Abfalter, Mike Swendra and Matt Schafer each had a hit for Foley.

ST. MATHIAS - Josh Haberman and Eric Gangle each delivered two-out, two-run hits rallying the St. Mathias Devils from a 7-4 deficit to an 8-7 victory Sunday over the Holdingford Express.

Gangle, who knocked in the game-winning RBI, finished 2-4. Haberman was 1-1.

Travis Dixon pitched three innings of relief for the victory. The former Pillager standout struck out three and allowed one hit and no runs. He added a hit and two runs on offense.

Adam Hardy had a hit and two runs for the Devils. Jake Francis was 3-4 with an RBI and Brad Streiff was 3-5 with three runs scored.

Holdingford's Chris Ebnet was 2-5 with a solo home run. Joe Bartkowicz had two his and a run. Matt Huls finished 4-5 with two runs and Aaron Meier had a hit and two runs.

Lastrup 2, Brewers 0

LASTRUP - The Lastrup Lakers outlasted the Pierz Brewers for a 12-inning 2-1 victory Sunday in Victory League action.

Cory Egan singled in Alvin Kimman to put the Brewers ahead 1-0 in the top of the ninth inning.

Lastrup's Dan Saehr tied in the bottom of the ninth on a solo shot to left field.

In the bottom of the 12th, Jamie Litke scored the winning run on an errant throw.

Reggie Litke gave up one run in six innings for the victory.

Saehr finished 2-5 with the home run.

Greg Pohlkamp was 2-5, Egan was 1-4 with an RBI for Pierz.

FLENSBURG - The Pierz Bulldogs improved to 3-0 with a 6-2 victory over Flensburg Sunday.

Paul Herman picked up the victory on the mound. Noah Czech was tagged with the loss.

CROSBY - The Harding Dinosaurs scored 14 runs in the top of the first inning to defeat the Cuyuna Range Miners 14-2 Sunday.

Harding's Matt Woitalla was 2-for-2 with a walk, RBI and two runs. Steve Athman was 2-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs and Mitch Becker was 1-3 with a RBI and two runs.

The Miners Dan Abear was 1-3 with a walk and two RBIs and Luke Millsop was 1-3.
