Ephrem Shaffer, of Staples-Motley High School received the Wells Fargo Spotlight On The Arts Award of Excellence at the 2007 state high school speech tournament. The award program is part of the Spotlight on the Arts campaign, a program established by Wells Fargo and the Minnesota State High School League to increase awareness for high school fine arts activities including debate, one-act play and speech.

This is in response to the 18-year-old's Vox Pox comment about respect. It is good that you have been taught to respect your elders and those in authority. Most people do deserve respect. But when someone of authority, even the president, has consistently lied to the public, that person does not deserve your respect.
