The recent Grandparent's Day at Harrison Elementary School had a special significance for 17 of the 350 people who attended. For those grandparents the visit to Harrison was a homecoming, since they also attended the Brainerd School.

When the fourth annual Medical Student Achievement awards of the Minnesota Medical Foundation were presented recently in Minneapolis, two of the four awards went to students from Brainerd. "Maddy" Masem and Rodney G. Olson.

Value of the Northern Pacific Shop payroll to Brainerd's economy was emphasized anew this month through publication of production figures by the railroad. It was revealed that 8,000 boxcars have been constructed at the Brainerd shops in the last ten years, or 800 a year.
