Brainerd suffers its first loss

SAUK RAPIDS - Steph Neugebauer tripled for the Brainerd Warriors in their first loss of the season, 2-1, to the Sauk Rapids Storm in Central Lakes Conference softball Monday.
The game was tied 1-1 until the bottom of the seventh inning when the Storm came through with a two-out single, a stolen base and an infield hit that drove in the winning run.
It was only the second victory in six games this season for the Storm.
Losing pitcher Karlie Manton had six strikeouts and walked only one. Karlye Barron added a double for the Warriors, who slipped to 6-1 in the CLC, 9-1 overall.
