Lilly L. Kirgiss

AITKIN - Lilly L. Kirgiss, 99, of Aitkin, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at Aitkin Health Services. She was born Aug. 28, 1908, in Olivia to Henry and Lydia (Palos) Yunker. On Sept. 26, 1934, in Olivia, Lilly was united in marriage to Lawrence Kirgiss. They farmed until their retirement in the early 1970s. They moved to Aitkin in 1999 and lived there since. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky (John) Fremling, of Aitkin, Jill (Joseph) Meyer, of Littleton, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Ezra, of California; and many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, on May 11, 1999; two sons, Lenis and Eldon; one brother, George; and her parents.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, memorial service at Westside Church, Aitkin. The Rev. Dallas Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Osceola Cemetery. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin.
