Albany hurler strikes out 13 Pioneers

PIERZ - Scott Johnson was 1-for-4 with Pierz's lone RBI as the Pioneers were defeated 7-1 by Albany in high school baseball Saturday.

The Huskies' Brad Mergen was nearly unhittable in his five-inning stint, striking out 13, including 11 in a row, and allowed no runs and only one infield single.

Mark Kahl went four innings striking, out five with four earned runs, to take the loss.
